- Get enough sleep. Sleep is an easy and appropriate solution because sleep can help relieve headaches and refresh the body.
- Stay hydrated. Dehydration (or lack of body fluids) can cause headaches as well as dizziness. By drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, you may be able to prevent headaches caused by dehydration. Besides drinking water, headache sufferers should also consume foods that are sufficient to stabilize body functions, such as fruit and vegetables.
- Massage, Having a relaxation or stress relief massage will help relieve the tension and tightness in the neck, base of skull and upper back. Massage will also help increase circulation in the body and to the areas of tension.
- Aromatherapy- Essential oils can promote circulation, and decreased inflammation responses. Peppermint and lavender are two such essential oils that may help. Adding aromatherapy to your massage session or using them at home may help relive your headache.
